This university is one of the most important educational centers for training specialists in fields related to food and its sub-disciplines. It was established in 1930 by order of the People’s Commissars of the former Soviet Union as the University of Food Industry of Moscow. In 1992, by order of the Ministry of Science of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Institute of Food Industry was renamed the Moscow State Academy of Food Production.
So far, the university has trained about 45,000 process engineers, mechanics, designers, and economists, as well as 3,300 candidates of sciences and more than 3,600 specialists for foreign countries. Professors of this university have also published more than 600 books, scientific works, tools, and educational aids.
